Franke Agenbag holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Mechatronic Engineering from the University of South Australia, with First-Class Honours. In her Honours research, Agenbag used liquid lens technology to overcome depth-of-field limitations by electronically adjusting the focus without requiring any mechanical movement. This technology, launching onboard Defence, Science & Technology Groups (DSTG) Buccaneer Main Mission CubeSat, is the first demonstration of its kind globally. Currently, Agenbag works for DSTG as a Space Systems Engineer, whilst pursuing a Doctorate at the University of South Australia. Agenbag was recently recognized as the DSTG Outstanding Early Career Achiever, Channel 9’s Young Achiever of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year & Women in Innovation - Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Government. Her PhD research aims to investigate on orbit mitigation of radiation effects.
