Alexander Tapley

MITRE Corporation

Alex Tapley joined the MITRE Corporation in 2021 as an AI Research Engineer within the Trustworthy & Secure AI department. He has applied his technical expertise in reinforcement learning, computer vision, explainable AI, and adversarial AI to a wide range of sponsor problems including wildfire mitigation, biometrics, course-of-action generation, and incident sharing. Prior to MITRE, Alex worked with research laboratories such as AFRL/RI, DEVCOM ARL/CISD, and the George J. Kostas Research Institute for Homeland Security on DOD-sponsored research into deep reinforcement learning and object detection. Alex holds a combined B.S. in Computer Science and Computer Engineering from Northeastern University.
