Nancy Setchell

OSI Maritime

Commander (ret’d) Nancy Setchell enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Naval Warfare Officer and graduated from the Royal Military College with a Bachelor of Arts in Honours English. She joined her first ship, HMCS Ottawa, where she earned her Bridge Watchkeeping Certificate and Naval Officer Professional Qualification. Specializing in navigation, she was once more posted to HMCS Ottawa, followed by becoming a Fleet Navigation Instructor. She served in HMCS Toronto as the Weapons Officer and completed the Joint Command and Staff Program and Master of Defence Studies.

She served as Executive Officer of HMCS Montréal from 2014-2016, and Commanding Officer of HMCS Charlottetown from 2018-2019.  She was the second woman in Canada to hold these positions and she truly enjoyed her time in leadership.

Upon retiring from the Canadian Armed Forces, Nancy earned a certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University.

In January 2024, Nancy was pleased to join OSI Maritime Systems as a Software Product Development Manager.  After using ECPINS for over 25 years, she is pleased to be an evangelist for OSI and looks forward to helping chart a course for the future.
