David Petty

University of New South Wales

David Petty is a lecturer at UNSW Canberra where he develops models and associated numerical method to simulate high speed real-gas effects. He completed a Ph.D. studying compressible Large Eddy Simulations (LES) at the University of Queensland. He then conducted modelling of turbulent, reactive fluid flows and shock tunnel simulations at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as part of the Center For Exascale Simulation of Plasma-Coupled Combustion (XPACC). His work on theoretical turbulence modelling continued at the University of Southern California comparing developed models to Direct Numerical Simulation.
